Our Mission:

It is often said that science progresses at an ever-accelerating pace. The implications of this are wonderful for society. This brings advances in medicine, technology and basic understanding that have allowed our human race to flourish. However, there is a small, but not insignificant, negative side to this fast-paced science. Scientific progress moves so fast that it can be a struggle to follow. Scientific fields have become extremely narrow, so much so, that the world’s leading expert in a field cannot speak intelligently about a field different though similar to his or her own.

This drawback of modern science has a more severe impact on the general public. Many political issues today are scientific at heart. For example, biofuels, stem cells, cloning and many others are at the forefront of political controversy. While medical decisions are made by doctors and financial decisions are made by economists, political decisions are made by voters who are not specialists in the issues in which they are voting. In fact, many of these political issues involve science that was discovered after the average American voter graduated high school or college. We recognize that unless someone diligently follows science, many of the terms and concepts underlying these issues can seem foreign. This is the motivation for Branching Out Education. It is our mission to provide information and instill a scientific literacy in the public so that voters can make educated decisions regarding today’s political issues.

Branching Out Education occupies a unique role in the political landscape. As an organization, we do not support nor oppose any candidates or any political party at any level of government.

Branching Out Education Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation based in Westchester County of New York. We are currently in the process of applying for IRS 501(c)3 status.
